Selling Onions

"All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not” (I Corinthians 10:23).

These days, you can sell amost anything. Recently, I found a tear-shaped onion in my refrigerator, and thought that it was interesting enough to post on my Instagram page.

Next thing I knew, Instagram suggested that I promote my random onion. Of course, I would have to pay for it. I’m sure the scanning robots had no idea this wasn’t a business post (it could be, I suppose).

But it made it think about how you could sell practically anything. Or at least, try to.

The Bible says in I Corinthians 10:23 that Christian should be careful about the things we do. Just because we could do something, it doesn’t mean it’s good for us or the people around us.

Not everything is “expedient” or and not everything can “edify.”

Good reminder, yes?

In Christ,
Jan
