“No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon” (Luke 16:13).
I write what I believe. I do think we authors have to write our own convictions. That is why I don’t “write to trend.” I pray that what I write is marketable, though. Hence the challenge. How do I write something that is true to the Bible and yet is sellable to my reading audience? The intersection is small. Whom do I serve? God or wealth? Therein is the basic question. I serve God. Let the chips fall where they may. If I have to find a side job so that I don’t have to rush my books to market, thereby allowing me to continue protecting the integrity of my writing based on my convictions, so be it.
