Growing up, we always had school holidays at Christmas time, and I had friends who celebrated Christmas, even though I didn’t get saved until I was in college. All the December festivities throughout my childhood days were pretty much what I still see these days in the stores and on the media. All around the world, most countries have an idea of what Christmas visually looks like.
My real Christmas memories began once I believed in Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior. Christmas trees remind me of the cross of Christ. Gifts under the tree remind me of the gift of eternal life from God Himself. Sacred hymns and many Christmas carols point to the Savior.
“And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call His name Jesus: for He shall save His people from their sins” (Matthew 1:21).
Yes, Jesus Christ is indeed the reason for the season!
What are your best Christmas memories? As for me, I am always happy when my family is together, regardless of how we celebrate Christmas. Just being at home with one another, not doing much of anything or going anywhere, is enough for me. I am thankful that both my husband and son believe in Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. That is all I ever wanted for my family.
I wish you and your family joy, joy, joy this Christmas holidays, and I pray that God will bless you with peace and love.
Merry Christmas, everyone!
