Today, we welcome author Margaret Daley to my blog, where I also interview authors occasionally. As per usual, I ask our guest authors some questions about their writing life. Let’s see what Margaret says!
Who is Margaret Daley?
Margaret Daley, a USA Today’s Bestselling author of over 110 books (five million plus sold worldwide), has been married for over forty-nine years and is a firm believer in romance and love. When she isn’t traveling or being with her two granddaughters, she’s writing love stories, often with a suspense/mystery thread and corralling her cats that think they rule her household.
Margaret, what motivates you to write?
My love for the Lord. I want to show how God can work in a person’s life. I also love telling stories since I was a child. I used to play with my paper dolls and came up with a story to enact.
What is your life verse and why?
And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. (1 Corinthians 13:13) Love is important. When you look at the world through the lens of love, it is so much better for you and others.
How does being a Christian influence your writing?
Strongly. God has been so important in my life therefore it will influence what I write and the stories I come up with.
What genres do you write in and why?
I’ve written historical and contemporary romances, but my favorite genre I’ve written in is the romantic suspense genre (usually with a mystery element with the story).
Tell us about your currently featured book.
Stolen (out October 25th but up for pre-sale now) is the fifth book in my Everyday Heroes Series. In this story my hero is a police detective who comes to the aid of a widow with a child.
Second Chance. Stalking. Murder.
Dr. Sarah Collins, a counselor and single mom, is shaken to her core when one of her patients is murdered. While caring for the victim’s young daughter and the crime’s sole witness, Candy, Sarah’s normally calm life becomes a nightmare from which she can’t escape. Her terror further escalates when it becomes clear that whoever stabbed Candy’s mother is still searching for something.
Detective Nick Davidson is assigned to the case. When his best friend as a child was kidnapped and never found, Nick was determined to become a police officer. His job comes first in his life, but the mysterious murder challenges him. Even worse, his growing attachment to Sarah and the girls threaten to unravel the core of who he’s always believed himself to be. How can he be a husband, father, and cop? Especially when if he lowers his guard to love, all of their lives may be lost.
Describe your book series.
Everyday Heroes are about the men who help others often to the peril of them. I also have a dog in each story. One was a vapor sniffing dog (bomb detecting) while others were a search and rescue canine, an arson detecting dog, and therapy dog.
