Coronavirus Pandemic News (Update 03/30/2020)

March 30, 2020 By Jan Thompson

Masks are very common in Asia, especially if you fly thorough airports. Not unusual for people wear masks in airplanes. You can also ask the flight attendant for masks if you don’t bring your own.

In the West, if you wear masks, some people will think something is wrong with you. It’s a cultural shift if we all end up wearing masks in May and June because we have to “vanquish the virus” or it will vanquish us.

“According to Global Times, a recent study showed the infectivity of asymptomatic patients could be nearly the same as confirmed cases…. The public should pay attention to any discomfort, including cough, fatigue and sore throat, and strengthen self-protection such as wearing masks, according to Lu Jinxing, an official at the Chinese CDC.” – Straits Times

Looks like some still don’t have any clue — one person said they brought hand sanitizer. That’s not enough. Asymptomatic carriers can breathe out and Coronavirus stays in the air for up to 3 hours and anyone who walks through the cloud will breathe it in.

“Short of a miracle cure, the only way to halt this pandemic, experts say, is to starve it. And nations around the world are attempting to do just that, by essentially cutting off life support to SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. That means enforcing social distancing and shelter-in-place policies designed to limit the virus’s access to us — the human bodies that host and enable the microorganism to spread.” – TIME
